The Internet Society Nigeria Chapter "World IPv6 Launch" was observed in Port Harcourt on 6 June 2012 which hosted participants from the south and eastern part of Nigeria. Presentations and discussions were held on IPv4 to IPv6 transition, Internet Governance, the future of the internet, Internet Exchange Point and the participation of Africans in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Internet Service Providers, Web hosts, etc were present at the event.

World IPv6 Launch was observed in Abuja on the 6th of June, 2012. Among the issues discussed are IPv6 deployment, involvement in the Internet EngineeringTask Force (IETF), Internet Exchange point and the future of internet in Nigeria.
     
 
Kano
 
The World IPv6 Launch event was also held in Kano by the Internet Society Nigeria Chapter in collaboration with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and IEEE Nigeria Chapter to hosted participants from the Northern part of Nigeria.
